The day is a celebration of the ‘water of life’ (from the Gaelic translation ‘uisge beatha’), recognising that whisky has been made throughout Scotland for generations.

Glengoyne Distillery, Killearn

Tullibardine Distillery, Blackford
A family owned independent distillery, handcrafting Highland single malt Scotch whisky. Tullibardine is one of the few distilleries in Scotland to distill, mature and bottle all on site.

Edradour Distillery, Pitlochry
Edradour distillery is the last original ‘farm’ distillery in Scotland with some very traditional equipment. Its stills are the smallest in Scotland and that contributes to the distinctive richness of the malt.

Glen Garioch Distillery, Oldmeldrum
One of the oldest operating distilleries in Scotland – and the most easterly – Glen Garioch (pronounced Geery in the ancient Doric dialect) sits right in the sheltered heart of the Valley of the Garioch. Favouring quality over quantity, Glen Garioch is a hearty Highland malt, only ever produced in small precious batches. Tours are available to book online.
