Tuesday - Visit Dunblane Cathedral
Visit the impressive Dunblane Cathedral, a fascinating building that stands on a site that has been sacred for well over 1,000 years. Its beautiful Gothic exterior, conserved by a 19th-century restoration, hides a past of neglect and renewal. Today, the church is an active place of worship. Inside are Pictish carved stones, rare 15th-century choir stalls and handsome 19th-century church furnishings.
Wednesday – Soak up some local history
From castles to monuments, Stirling is a haven of Scottish history, and is only 15 miles from Callander Woods. Stirling Castle dominates the local skyline, and is one of Scotland’s grandest castles due to its imposing position and stunning architecture – and the scenery will take your breath away. Enter the world of Scotland’s Renaissance kings and queens and discover a world of colour, splendour and glorious craftsmanship. Stirling is also home to The National Wallace Monument. The landmark overlooks the site of Scotland's victory at the Battle of Stirling, and is home to exhibits and displays telling the story of William Wallace.
