Celebrating World Whisky Day 2019
Did you know that today (18 May 2019) is World Whisky Day?
The day is a celebration of the ‘water of life’ (from the Gaelic translation ‘uisge beatha’), recognising that whisky has been made throughout Scotland for generations.
A short break at a Wood Leisure Park can provide an ideal base to visit some of the many distilleries Scotland has to offer. Below we explore some of the best known, as well as some smaller independent, distilleries:
Glengoyne Distillery, Killearn
'When it comes to whisky, we take more time and care than any other distillery in Scotland. It’s the essence of Glengoyne.’ Glengoyne whiskies have bold, complex flavours, from the slowest stills in Scotland, and matured in the finest casks.
Glengoyne Distillery offers a number of different tours, where you can learn a lot about whisky and have a lot of fun while doing it!
