Ladies Day at Perth Racecourse
On Thursday 16 May, men and women will flock to Perth Racecourse in their thousands, all dressed in their finest attire looking to scoop a fabulous prize for their efforts. Tay FM’s Stuart Webster will host the main stage in the Grandstand area throughout the day, with three great rewards for those who have gone all out to look the part.

The Cateran Yomp
The Cateran Yomp (a military term for a long-distance march) is the biggest, toughest event of its kind. Taking place on the 8/9 June in the foothills of the Cairngorm Mountains in Scotland, teams of 3-6 people battle through 54 miles (gold) in 24 hours across the rugged terrain of the Scottish wilderness. You can also sign up for the silver or bronze distances (36 and 22 miles respectively).

Strathmore Highland Games

Each year, on the second Sunday of June, a truly Scottish event takes place in the beautiful grounds of Glamis Castle in Angus, Scotland – the Strathmore Highland Games. It starts officially at 12 pm, yet everyone is welcome before then. There’s lots going on like big strong men tossing cabers and throwing hammers. Light footed highland dancer’s dancing.
Midsummer Music Festival

Scottish Game Fair
Organised by the Game & Wildlife Conservation Trust (GWCT), this fantastic three-day event attracts tens of thousands of visitors and is a true celebration of conservation and the countryside, while raising vital funds for wildlife conservation science.

Perth Medieval Fayre
Watch and try your hand at a range of skills including hand and wheel spinning, loom weaving and live metal casting from Threads in Time. There will also be medieval music, weapons and armour, traditional crime and punishment demonstrations and much much more!
Perth Highland Games
The Games include traditional Heavyweight events such as throwing weights and hammers and tossing the caber. In addition, there is Highland dancing, foot- and cycle races and the very popular pipe band contest with large numbers of overseas bands often taking part.
The Braemar Gathering
The Braemar Gathering, is always held on the first Saturday in September in The Princess Royal and Duke of Fife Memorial Park in Braemar. The event starts at 9.30 a.m. and usually finishes at about 5.00 p.m.

Perth Lantern & Nativity Parade
Join a beautiful lantern-lit procession through Perth City Centre, ending with the unveiling of the Perth Christmas Nativity Scene outside St John’s Kirk. A great way to celebrate your local community this festive season. Daytime workshops are held to create the lanterns all ready for this short parade. The celebration of Christmas continues with carol singing and bell ringing.
