Planning a golf break in Scotland this year? Check out our top tips on the ‘must play’ courses from each of our holiday parks.
Golfing breaks in Scotland are seeing a huge surge in popularity this year. In fact, tee times are already in short supply at some of Scotland’s most famous courses, the Open venues and top links courses. This is due to several factors, including:
- The number of people in Scotland who took up or returned to the sport during the lockdown.
- The return of international travel brings golfers to Scotland, desperate to play on our great courses.
- The 150th Open Championship takes place at St Andrew’s this summer, which is bringing lots of golf fans to the country to watch the Open, and then stay on and enjoy a golfing holiday afterwards.
The good news is that with over 550 fantastic courses to play, including links courses, parkland courses, 9-hole courses and everything else in between, you can still enjoy a golfing break in Scotland this summer. There is hardly a town in Scotland that doesn’t have its own course, but you might be interested to learn that the highest concentration of courses is around Glasgow (94 courses) and Edinburgh (67 courses), while the other regions have about 40 courses each. In short, you’re never far from a game of golf.
It would, however, be wise to start booking your tee times soon. To help you, we have compiled a list of the best courses that are on the doorstep, or within easy reach of each of our holiday parks. You will find a short description of the course, along with what type of course, length and par and then a link to the course website. We have found that many of these websites now have online booking systems, making it so much easier to plan your golfing trip online.
