The SOLA Awards in November saw Wood Leisure take home two awards at the Scottish Outdoor Leisure Awards 2019, with Deeside Holiday Park taking home Best Holiday Park, and Campsie Glen Holiday Park winning Best Value Accommodation!
The SOLA awards celebrates and rewards the best in the Outdoor and Leisure Industry across the whole of Scotland, so we are delighted to be taking home two awards!
We had received nominations for all 6 of our Holiday Parks across a number of categories, but faced very stiff competition across the board - so it was a great accomplishment to come away with 2 awards on the night.
Deeside Holiday Park, which won Best Holiday Park, is in Royal Deeside, 9 miles from the centre of Aberdeen. The park was devastated by the floods in winter 2015, and the team at Deeside have worked tirelessly to restore the park to its former glory - and winning this award is proof that hard work pays off.
We have invested more than £3 million in new accommodation and facilities at Deeside since the flood damage; there is a wide choice of new self-catering accommodation available, including luxury hot tub lodges and modern holiday homes, to en-suite glamping and camping pods. The park also offers pitches for tourers, motorhomes and campervans as well as a spacious grassy area for camping. Investment in the park facilities include modern, heated toilet and showering amenities, indoor playroom and TV room, play park, duck pond and outdoor BBQ area.
Campsie Glen Holiday Park, nestled between the Campsie and Fintry hills, faced a lot of competition in the Best Value Accommodation category, but the unique combination of location, wide choice of accommodation options and on-site facilities proved to be a winning one. The park offers a range of self-catering options, from luxury hot tub lodges, modern holiday homes, to glamping pods and domes; as well as offering pitches for touring caravans, motorhomes and campers, along with tent pitches. The on-site facilities include a bar and bistro, entertainment and children’s activities throughout the summer season, as well as an indoor swimming pool and hot tub, all included in the cost of the accommodation.

Both parks, and their teams, are highly deserving of these awards. For all 6 of our parks to be nominated for awards in the first place, and to come away with 2 awards, is testament to the hard working teams we have at Wood Leisure.
