Callander Woods Holiday Park - Access Statement
Callander Woods Holiday Park is a family-run park offering self-catering accommodation, private holiday home ownership, touring pitches and glamping pods. Our Holiday Park is located in the village Callander at the eastern gateway to the Loch Lomond, Stirling and Trossachs National Park. Our aim is to provide a high level of customer care and service for all of our guests and visitors, whilst staying with us at Callander Woods Holiday Park.
If you should require any further or special assistance at any time during your stay with us, please ask any member of staff and they will do their utmost to assist you.
Arrival & Car Parking Facilities
On arrival at the Holiday Park we request that all visitors/guests report to Reception (the building located to your right as you arrive into the Park). Car parking is available at the entrance to the Holiday Park. There is one designated disabled space close to the Reception.
Main Entrance & Reception
From the parking area there is a short walk to the Reception building, with a paved sloping path into the Reception. There is currently no disabled door control, however if you contact a member of staff they will be more than happy to assist.
Reception is open daily from 9am to 5pm in the winter and till 6pmor later in the summer. After the Reception is closed there is a Duty Warden available by telephone for any emergencies. We also have Wardens residing on the Park.
The main roads throughout the Holiday Park are tarmac with a 10mph speed limit.
The Park has minimal external lighting to create a suitable ambiance at night. The lights in buildings are on sensors and are fitted with low energy bulbs, keeping energy costs to a minimum and helping the environment.
We have a centralised building with toilet and shower facilities, laundry and dish washing facilities. The facilities are accessed from the main road with level or gently sloping paths. These facilities are currently open at all times for all guests. The building has ladies and gents facilities and a specially adapted toilet and shower facility. Our chemical disposal is also located in the central building.
The Laundry facilities are also located within the central building and comprises of 2 washing machines, tumble dryer, dish wash and food preparation area as well as an integrated baby changing facility. The washing machines are token operated and the tumble drier is coin operated.
Outdoor Play Area
Our outdoor play area is situated centrally and partly protected by a large shelter with a large open grass area and facilities for children of all ages. There are currently swings, climbing frames and a sand pit for the children
We request that children are supervised at all times when using the play equipment as we cannot be responsible for the safety of your children. The play areas are closed by 10pm to reduce noise on the Park. Dogs are not permitted onto the play areas.
Caravan Holiday Homes
All of our caravan holiday homes are Thistle graded with full central heating and double glazing and all include the bed linen and towels. There are two or three steps into each of the caravan holiday homes and they all have a patio area with a picnic bench.
Parking is provided alongside or nearby our caravan holiday homes, which permit two cars per unit, with additional cars to be parked in the parking bays outside Reception, at the entrance to the Holiday Park. Our fully accessible caravan holiday home is only available at our Blairgowrie Holiday Park in Perthshire.
Our touring pitches are all on fairly level and accessed by the main tarmac road. The majority of pitches are gravel under foot, but we do have a limited number of grass pitches (weather dependent). All of our touring pitches have parking alongside for one car and additional cars can be parked on the forecourt. Each pitch has its own water tap and shared drainage at the pitch. Our tent pitches are on grass with some offering electric hook-up facility. Electric hook-ups are available on all pitches and are shared/individual bollards. A drive-through dump station is provided for motor homes.
Wheelchairs can be arranged in advance from the local branch of the British Red Cross for use while staying at the Park. These must be booked in advance and they usually request a donation for use of this facility.
We welcome dogs onto our Holiday Park, however they must be kept on leads at all times when on the Park and we also have dog walk area. Our self-catering accommodation has some pet friendly and some pet free units (this must be specified at the time of booking) and pet units can accept a maximum of two dogs per unit (charges apply). Assistance dogs are welcome in all of accommodation and also must be advised of at the time of booking.
The centre of Callander village is a 15 – 20 minute walk from the park and there is a cycle path too. Alternatively, local taxi services are available and we can assist with making pre-bookings if required. The taxis can pick-up and drop-off at your accommodation if required.
Mobile Telephone Coverage & Wifi
The majority of mobile phone networks operate in the area. Wifi is available in the Holiday Park through an external supplier. This option is complementary in some of the caravan holiday homes and can be purchased online for other users. Due to our remote location the wifi coverage can fluctuate, especially at peak user times.
Basic First Aid
Our first aid kit is located in the Reception at the front entrance of the Holiday Park. We currently have qualified first aiders in our team to assist, should they be required to do so. There is a local doctor surgery and chemists in Callander and the nearest hospital with A&E is in Stirling.
Recycling & Refuse
Our recycling and refuse point is located at the entrance to the Holiday Park behind the screened area and is well signed. You are able to get vehicular access to this area if required. We currently recycle paper, glass, cardboard and aluminum.
CCTV operates at the entrance to our Park as well as on other locations on the grounds of our Park to assist in the security and safety of our guests. This recording is not available to any other parties and is the property of Callander Woods Holiday Park.
Non-Smoking Accommodation & Facilities
All of our accommodation and facilities are designated non-smoking and penalties will apply if these rules are not adhered to.
