Celebrating 30 Years at Lomond Woods

The Wood Family would like to say a huge thank you to all of our customers, past and present, who have made our thirty years at Lomond Woods such a great experience.

12th January 1994 was a memorable day in the history of Wood Leisure - the day Lomond Woods Holiday Park, by Loch Lomond, became part of the Wood Leisure Family. Colin and Margaret were ambitious to build on their success at their first holiday park in Blairgowrie, Perthshire creating a busy five-star holiday park from very humble beginnings in 1981.

Lomond Woods was originally known as Tullichewan Caravan Park but the creation of Lomond Shores visitor experience in the year 2000 and the establishment of the Loch Lomond, Stirling and Trossachs National Park gave Colin and Margaret the impetus for a huge investment in the park and the notable name change. Somewhat symbolically, being the beginning of a new century, Lomond Woods Holiday Park became and continues to be one of the most prestigious holiday parks in Scotland and happily one of the most popular too.

As if to highlight the endeavours of the Wood Family, in the Year 2000 Lomond Woods scooped the "Best Park in Scotland" Award and was the finalist in the "Best Park in Britain" as well as winning an impressive Business Award. The pinnacle of Lomond Woods success came when Margaret was presented with the hugely coveted Scottish Thistle Award for Customer Care at a glittering ceremony at the EICC. Following the accolade, Margaret was invited to a gathering of "100 greatest Scots" hosted by the Queen in Holyrood Palace - an event to remember! From that day to this Lomond Woods Holiday Park has had the honour to accept numerous Awards for business, environmental successes and customer care from tourism bodies throughout Scotland. We are all very proud of our Lomond Woods and we are very conscious of the fact that it is a very special place to visit and close to the hearts of many of our guests. We have helped so many people to create lasting, happy memories with family and friends over 30 years.

We will toast Lomond Woods Holiday Park with our Wood Leisure Family, the invaluable team on the park and those "behind the scenes" who are instrumental in ensuring happy holidays for our loyal customers - hopefully for the next 30 years!!
